General Information

Holmesdale Angling and Conservation Society is a small and friendly Society, originally founded in the the 1940`s. at that time our principal fishery LONGFORD LAKE (or called Chipstead Lake ) was still a working gravel pit although it has been many  years since extraction last took place and was then called the Holmesdale Angling Society until a few years ago when the membership changed the name to the present title. The Society covers a range of angling interests including competition fishing with a full program of matches throughout the Season. There is also a thriving junior section which also has its own program of competitions during  the year. The majority of our members are pleasure and specimen anglers with bream , carp and pike being the target species. Holmesdale Angling and Conservation Society has negotiated arrangements with other clubs in the region which provides our members with access to their waters. So by being a member of Holmesdale you have the opportunity for a change of scenery and fish at a wide variety of waters to which you would not normally have access to:

Fishing on an exchange ticket makes our Member subject to that Club's rules so please respect any local  requirements !

No more than 2 rods may be used on all of the Society waters although  4 RODS MAY BE USED ON LONGFORD MAIN LAKE, ALONG WITH BAIT BOATS  provided that their use complies with the Society regulations and the appropriate Number of Environment Agency Licenses are held.  NIGHT FISHING IS ALLOWED ON OUR WATERS but Juniors must be accompanied by a senior member but can not fish the Longford Big Lake or Longford Small Lake.

All Intermediate and Senior member's must attend at least one authorised working party or otherwise incur a payment surcharge as set by the Committee which at present is set at £15.00

But if a intermediate or senior member wishes to fish the close season they have the following option's

  1. Attending two working party's you can fish Longford Big Lake in the close season

  2. Attending one working party and paying £30.00 you can fish Longford Big Lake in the close season

  3. To fish Longford Big Lake in the close season and did not attended any work party's by paying the work party fine and £30.00 at present the total to pay is £45.00 then you can fish the close season

  4. All the above applies to existing senior and intermediate members

Guest Tickets cost £6.00 per day for Senior's and Intermediate's  and £3.00 for Junior's and OAP's .Only

TWO GUEST TICKETS PER MEMBER PER DAY.

So the Guest Tickets are available from the following Tackle Shops in the area but are not sold on the bank side :-

Tickets must be purchased in advance and run from Midnight to Midnight - as tickets are not sold by BAILIFFS on the bank side and guests must be fishing with a member. Access gates must be secured when entering or leaving Society property. The welfare and conservation of our fish stocks are a major priory. Strict rules on litter are enforced ! so take you litter home  All members and guest's MUST comply with the SOCIETY RULES AND REGULATIONS
